Bar Code Google - You May Have to Start Scanning Your...



Well the title was a little bit misleading...

The truth is Google is commemorating the 57th anniversary of the bar code. Way back on October 7th 1952 Inventors Norman Woodland and Bernard Silver were finally granted their rights to the "bar code". These crafty guys thought that it would be a cool idea if a code could be scanned from any angle and read the same identification... Pretty cool!

As a way to say thanks Google has decided to change their name from standard text to the new bar code which you'll probably see all day today. Which they regularly do during holidays and other special occasions.
